And how I plan to document 2014 will be through Project Life again. I began Project Life in the spring of 2013. I was looking for a way to do something with the hundreds upon thousands of photos I had been taking. What was the point of it all if these photos just sat on a hard drive somewhere never to be printed and seen?
Then I discovered Becky Higgins and her simple scrapbooking style called Project Life. Finally a way to scrapbook that made sense to me. Print photos, put in book, make a note, done. I think I can handle this!
I am all caught up with 2013 and looking forward to starting 2014 in a fresh, new way for me. I'm going to attempt to follow the weekly format. This should be an interesting experiment for me since I had the hardest time editing down my photo selections in 2013. I did not document in the weekly format in 2013, but rather by the event. So, I allowed myself to spill over to multiple pages for one days activities (ahem, 3rd birthday party).
In 2014 I will also be attempting to do several layouts via Digital Project Life. I dabbled a bit with the digital version of scrapbooking in the fall of 2013 and fell in love. I would love to hone my skills and have a bit of freedom to create pages while lying in bed or up at the cabin for the weekend without hauling out all the supplies. (But, don't get me wrong... I love my supplies!).
I just purchased a Canon Pixma Pro-100 photo printer that can print up to 13"x19" prints so I can print out my digital Project Life layouts and just slip them in to the album like another page. Instant gratification! (Look for a blog post in the very near future about this beast of a machine. I love it so far!)
In order to hold myself accountable to all these Project Life good intentions, I joined a blog circle of fellow Project Life addicts. Each month we will link to each other's work and encourage you to check out their blogs, too. I can't wait to see what all these lovely ladies do in the coming year. Please make sure to click around the blog circle and check out all of the amazing work going on in the digital Project Life arena. This month I am linked to a fellow Seattle-ite, Ashley from life, love and lens.
